We have a Video

It is profoundly satisfying when you complete a project, step back to look, and it's really good.
That satisfaction is mysteriously compounded when the accomplishment is by one of your kids.
It is many times more so when it is more than one of your kids.

I wish I could take some credit for this fantastic video, but it was all done by Stephen, my son-in-law, and Josiah, my son. All I did was be me. They did an amazing job of making me look good.

First Day Back in the Shop

First day back in the shop after several weeks of long work hours. Truth is, I wasn't sure I'd be up for a project today.

I had a substantial chunk excised off of my forehead yesterday and the ensuing headache has been … impressive. My experience has been that healing happens best when I'm active. So I headed into the shop.

The more I got into today's project, the better I felt. Maybe singing with the radio didn't hurt either. I was alone so no helpers were injured by my singing.

And the project went well too. I was able to get the framework made and glued onto the engine compartment lid.

Washington Marine Market

Our display was vastly better than our first attempt (at Oriental a few weeks back).
The view out our back door was gorgeous!
Unfortunately, we got rained out in the early afternoon.

The Good: One of our neighboring vendors went and searched for this chart for me. He had been to Hispaniola in '84 and thought I could put pins everywhere we send a boat. Thank you, Ray, for the encouragement, and cool idea!

The Weird: Some fellow stopped and made a point of decrying any assistance going to Haiti because, in his view, it was utterly hopeless. I think he used the word hopeless at least a dozen times. Sir, hopelessness resides inside everyone who does not have hope in Christ. We send boats to Haiti because of who we are, not because they meet some criteria.
